Starting out as a Service Receptionist at Armstrong Holden in Woolloongabba, where she also met her husband. Due to strong growth and relocating to larger premises our client is offering a position for a Qualified CNC Machinist/Programmer to operate our Samsung SL3000LM Lathe (with bar feeder) and Samsung MCV5700 Milling machines at our headquarters in Burpengary around 1 hour north of Brisbane City. 

The Opportunity
Our facility's CNC Machinist/Programmer reports to the warehouse operations manager and will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and seamless operation. 
Having sound experience with the operation of Manual and CNC, including:
  • Lathe's and milling machines
  • Strong CNC turning skills
  • Programming experience
  • Setting and operating CNC Lathes with Fanuc controllers ISO programming and knowledge with fixed form programming 
 
To be successful in this role you MUST also possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Trade qualified Fitter Turner or Machinist, ideally with at least 3 years post trade experience
  • Experience in general fitting and machining with stainless and/or mild steel fabrication
  • One CNC Cadcam on site programming 
  • Ability to work unassisted, work to deadlines and produce quality workmanship at all times.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • A team player with a good attitude who is not afraid of a challenge
  • Have a great work ethic with a "can do" attitude
  • Be reliable and willing to commit to the role
  • Be comfortable in operating more than one machine at a time
  • Weekend work available during busy periods
  • Willing to train apprentice 
What's in it for you?
This is a Permanent Full Time position with a 6 month probation period. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 6.00am to 3.30pm which includes overtime hours and penalty rates. Some Saturday's are required to be worked, hours varying from 8am to 12am which is paid at overtime rates. The position is available to start immediately, but it is not a requirement.
