The company
Our client is a leading supplier and manufacturer of Vehicle-mounted Emergency Warning products to Public Safety in Australia. The company is based in a new purpose-built facility and is currently expanding its Australian Operations.

An opportunity has arisen for a Production Assembly Technician to join their manufacturing team based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.

The role
The Production Assembly Technician will work closely within the production team to install components and wiring into prefabricated assemblies. Working in a small team of technicians, the person will ensure the ongoing supply of functional equipment for installation into vehicles by installation teams. The role is key to ensuring the quality and timeliness of the services the company provides to its clients, which are generally large Government and Corporate organizations, not private individuals.

Preferred skills
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with demonstrated expertise in the following:
  • Experience in the assembly of wire harnesses and cable looms
  • Installation, configuration and assembly of mechanical/electronic assemblies
  • Ability to interpret wiring and equipment layout drawings and instructions
  • Ability to perform basic soldering and wire crimping to a consistent high quality
  • Familiar with the construction of prototype and production wiring assemblies
  • Use of power and manual hand tools
  • Familiarity with operating in a safety-focussed environment
Personal characteristics
  • Ability to deliver work of a high standard, within specified time frames and under minimal supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively
  • Willingness to work off site occasionally to support installations and service 
  • Proactively contribute to a positive team environment
  • Dependable, reliable and be eager to learn
Desirable attributes
  • Familiarity with the integration of electrical/electronic modules into products/enclosures
  • Knowledge of automotive wiring and components
  • Light metal fabrication experience
  • Knowledge of the product development process from prototype to production
  • Working knowledge of Automotive 12V DC Systems
