  • PNG BASED ROLE - PORT MORESBY
  • Large automotive dealer group
  • Negotiable retainer plus incentives, accomodation, flights and more!
Our client is a multi-franchise vehicle distributor based in Port Moresby, with additional dealerships spread throughout PNG. They are presently seeking a Service Manager for their primary dealership in Port Moresby. The computer system in use at this group is Reynolds & Reynolds and the position reports to the Branch Manager / National Service Manager.

You will supervise a team of national staff, which requires patience and the ability to be aware of all the activities presently underway. Prior experience as a Service or Fixed Operations Manager in a franchised dealership is essential for this role. You must be a hands-on manager, someone who focuses on people, over figures. Figures are still important but require more of a macro profitability approach, rather than a micro, efficiency-focused track. Given the growth that PNG is experiencing, room for advancement within the group is available to staff who demonstrate the requisite skills and abilities.

Port Moresby is the capital and largest city of Papua New Guinea. It is located on the shores of the Gulf of Papua, on the southeastern coast of the Papuan Peninsula of the island of New Guinea. The city emerged as a trade centre in the second half of the 19th century. During World War II it was a prime objective for conquest by the Imperial Japanese forces, to be used as a staging point and air base to cut off Australia from South-east Asia and the Americas. Port Moresby has a population of over 400,000, giving it an annual growth rate of about 2.1%. The first European to see it was Captain John Moresby in 1873. It was named in honour of his father, Admiral Sir Fairfax Moresby.

A generous remuneration package based on a negotiable retainer will be discussed. In addition, expatriate benefits are also provided, which include free accommodation, free return airfares to point of recruitment, relocation assistance, company vehicle, 5 weeks annual leave, full medical insurance, and club memberships.
